Help Needed

I finished a fresh install of Linux Mint, Installed Bambuddy and had all my printers working. That is until I did some updates and now it appears the user data base is messed up. I can no longer log in, and I had not setup the email recovery yet. Also I used the same name as admin and user and don't know how to access the admin account.
I think where it all went bad was the upgrades to Mint. I had also installed Wine so I could use that for my Elegoo Slicer which I haven't installed yet. Is there a way to get in and fix the user log in without blowing Linux and all this work out and starting over.
Thanks for this awesome program. I just am a bit of a noob to Linux and don't know exactly where to look here. Oh and I have not encrypted the directory yet because this is the second time this has happened after doing the update to Linux (that time I started over).
Thanks
